To my surprise what I got was mostly... what The World thought about it. The Christian perspective seemed strangely missing. Isn't that odd?
It was a shocking illustration of a searching world and a yawning church! Maybe it just seemed that way. Maybe the church is so busy be-ing kind that it doesn't have time to talk about it. That would be nice.
I think the sign in this picture was one of the best messages I found. I know the term "random acts of kindness" is a little old hat now but the fact remains...a little kindness does wonders in this heartbroken world.

It's a little thing, but a little thing that always, always catches our attention. Which tells you how rare it is.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Glynn... even a smile can do wonders :-)
ReplyDelete"It was a shocking illustration of a searching world and a yawning church!"
ReplyDeleteDang. You said a mouthfull there.
That sign is great! The little things matter... if everyone believed that... wow! Thanks, Lorrie.
ReplyDeleteI hope that it is the later...the Church DOES kindness rather than talks about it.
ReplyDeleteKindness is good, though. :-) Truly. One small thing can soothe a multitude of hurts from throughout the day.
Katdish ~ hello! I've just finished the book of Acts so I'm quite full of the revelation that I am not doing enough to impact my world.
ReplyDeleteBridget ~ I love the colors in that sign too :-)
ReplyDeleteHelen ~ Isn't that the truth! It's amazing what power is contained in the simple things...
Thanks for coming over guys!
great blog title ... and post, too ...
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be great if random acts of kindness, one day, weren't so random (rare)!
ReplyDeletea little kindness does wonders in this heartbroken world.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does! It will leave a lasting impression and maybe even a eternal impression.
Great post Lorrie, and I just LOVE that sign, that's never outdated!! Kindness is fruit of the Spirit that doesn't get as much attention as love and peace for example, but we could always use more of it :)
ReplyDeleteAnd when we each share our light in little acts of kindness, they all add up to brilliance and a whole lot of difference!
ReplyDeleteLouise
just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down :-)
ReplyDeleteI too hope it's the fact that the church is doing and not talking...some people seem to think we have a problem in the reverse. :) Great post! Thanks!
ReplyDelete... In the most delightful way...
ReplyDeleteThanks for poppins in :-)
It is amazing how kindness can be contagious. Have a great week! :O)
ReplyDeleteInteresting observations about kindness. I loved that sign, it certainly doesn't have to be fancy and all beautiful to get the point across, does it? Personally, I believe more people are reached with such a important message if it's homemade from the heart :). Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJoanne, that is so true! Kindness is kindness whether or not it's fancy shmancy :-) Good to have your visit!!
